The First Great Lakes ESPORTS Summit

MACUL is excited to join forces with many of our partners in PK-20 education to offer the first ever Great Lakes Esports Summit. This Summit will take place on March 14, 2020 in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the heels of the 45th Annual MACUL Conference.

We are looking forward to bringing together an audience committed to the positive growth of esports and its role as an authentic pathway for student learning while featuring the myriad of connections between esports and student engagement, collaboration, strategy, design thinking, competition, innovation and student outcomes.

The Summit is taking on two major themes for the day:

Part 1: Esports – Now What?

This portion of the event will provide content and engagement opportunities that focus on awareness and answering questions like: What are Esports? What do I need to start Esports in my district or college campus (devices, equipment, bandwith, timelines, etc.)? Who is doing esports (connections to state, regional and national organizations)? Nationally recognized speakers.

Part 2: Esports in Actions

This portion of the event will provide content and engagement opportunities that focus on demonstrating Esports in the PK-20 environment, school clubs or activities, current initiatives and how to get involved and why esports matters for today’s students!
